FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Scheduling
I offer telehealth sessions for people residing in California and Colorado. I see clients Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday between 10am--6pm by appointment. I invite you to reach out for time availability at hello@meaganbtherapy.com.
Who i work with
Individual adults aged 18 and above. I do not practice couples, family or child therapy.
SESSION FEe
I offer a free 20 minute consultation via Zoom or by phone. Consultations are a chance for us to speak briefly, and we can decide if we are a good fit. After that, the session fee is $225 per 50-minute session. Payment is due at the time of session.
SESSION Frequency
Sessions typically take place weekly. Therapy is a commitment and a continued practice that involves learning, growth, and building new ways of doing things. Similar to exercise, the emotional 'muscles' take time and consistency to strengthen.
Cancellation
Sessions cancelled less than 48 hours in advance will be charged at full rate.
INSURANCE
I do not accept insurance. I am an out of network provider. Superbills can be provided for submission to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. If you plan to seek reimbursement I recommend contacting your insurance company to fully understand what your coverage is for out-of-network providers and to understand the process.
Here are some questions to ask your insurance about their rate for reimbursement:
-
-
Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
-
Does my insurance plan provide reimbursement for out-of-network outpatient mental health services? If so, how much/what percentage does my plan reimburse for?
-
Does my plan cover telehealth sessions?
-
What is my deductible and has it been met?
-
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
-
What is the coverage amount per therapy session for an out-of-network provider?
-
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
-
How do I submit claim forms (superbill) for reimbursement?
-
Please Note:
If your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits for services and you decide you would like Superbills for submission to insurance it is important to know:
--Insurance companies require Superbills to have a DSM-5 diagnosis, which becomes part of your medical records.
--Insurance companies have the right to request and view confidential session notes to determine coverage.
